About NIOS

The Largest Open Schooling System in the world.

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an Independent board of education under the Union Government of India. It is a national board that administers examinations for Secondary (Grade X) and Senior Secondary (Grade XII). This board is an independent board at par with CBSE, State Board & IB boards across the Country. The NIOS programmes pay special attention towards requirements of the first generation learners, physically, mentally and visually challenged learners and candidates from disadvantaged sections of the society. IBOS is proud to be associated with NIOS as a premier Online High School globally focussed High School.

Subjects Offered at IBOS

A total of 3 streams are available in our curriculum namely Commerce, Science & Arts. A student has the option of choosing any one stream out of the three streams.

Commerce Stream

The subjects available are: English, Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Data Entry Operations, Psychology, Environmental Science, Mass Communication, Physical Education & Yoga.

Science Stream

The subjects available are: English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Data Entry Operations, Psychology, Environmental Science, Physical Education & Yoga.

Arts Stream

The subjects available are: English, History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Data Entry Operations, Psychology, Physical Education & Yoga.

A student should take a minimum of 5 subjects and can extend up to a maximum of 7 subjects. Change of stream is permissible anytime during the mid term. This benefit is not available in ANY board of the country except NIOS.

We encourage the vast majority of our students to sit for international standardized tests such as SAT, ACT, Advanced Placement Test, TOEFL and IELTS.
